Basil?

Does anyone know if fresh basil leaves are OK to feed turtles? If so, are they nutritious? My RES loves them, but I`ve never seen anything about basil in nutritional charts regarding oxalic acid content, calcium content (if any), etc. I`ve never even seen basil mentioned.
