Imperial pueblacorndurans!!!!!!!!

BeattyReptiles Feb 12, 2007 01:34 PM

I am pleased to say that this year I should produce the first (to my knowldge) imperial pueblacorndurans! These will result from breeding my corndurans ( corn x honduran) to a imperial pueblan (cal-king x pueblan). I will also be producing Brook Korns (Brooks King x corn) again this year and albino "Dairy Corns" (corn x albino nelson's milk). Now I just got to figure out how to cross a retic to a pueblan! LOL

Sounds like some knockout animals are in the works there.
Are you already putting things together now?

No not yet. I don't reverse cycle like alot of people. I try to work with nature and the weather and not against it. I'll be coming out of hibernation in the next month so these are still several months away. I have several animals of each type that are of breedable size so I'm sure I'll get a few of each at least.

What is a cottonhead?

Sounds like you have some cool stuff. Just my opinion but I really don't like crossing king to king, milk to milk or rat to rat. These hybrids often come out looking way to much like either of the parents and can't be recognized as a hybrid by sight. I try to make stuff that is obviously a hybrid to reduce the chance of a mistaken identity for a pure animal. Anyway good luck with your stuff and I'd still love to see some pics when you get that stuff hatched out.

Cottonhead=Southern Copperhead X Florida Cottonmouth. I also do not condone producing animals that look like parent sp. as this is the genesis of the problems that most people have with the practice. Any animals that are indistiguishable from parent species are never put into the hobby. None of the aforementioned animals could ever be mistaken for anything pure. In the first few generations (the Pyro x greeri x ruthveni x alterna crosses) they sometimes did do a bit of "reversion" but at this point with holbrooki and campbelli they resemble nothing but each other. Do you have any photos of your hybrid breeders, the imperial & corndurans?
