Breeding........a few Q's

jenni270986 Aug 11, 2003 04:56 AM

at the moment i've got 2 leos. Ones 13 months old and the other is 3 months old. They are both female, and i know they have to be about 18 months old before they can breed. My friend has a male leo that about 6 months old and in the future we are thinking of breeding them. My leos are a high yellow partial stripe and a hypo jungle, his is a dark coloured normal. What sort of morphs would we get from them? and also does it put my females at risk breeding them, is there any complications, sortened life span, dangers of fighting?
Thanks for your help
jenni

Actually, most geckos reach "full grown" at 1 year of age, and it is by then when most breeders mate them. According to your colony you'll probabbly get normals, and if you are lucky maybe high yellows. But it mainly depends on the background of the father: dark colored male that you mentioned. According to the risks, there should not be any risks unless your friend's gecko had any type of disease otherwise you should be fine.
