CAn anyone tell me what this is?

jasonmc Feb 12, 2007 05:26 PM

I have a reptile removal service here in Southern California. Many of the snakes we work with are Southern Pacific Rattlesnakes, Gophers, Racers, and kings. Simple enough to ID. However every now and then someone stumps me. Someone yesterday asked me to ID what appears to be an 18 worm looking snake. The lady claims it lives in her pond, and she is located in Beverly Hills California.
If anyone can tell me what this critter is, I would be very greatful. Sorry about the quality of the pics!

First thought is Planaria, though I'm not sure they get that long. One of the flatworms, for pretty much sure.

Wow Chris, your good!
I was ready to write it off as some alien encounter. I cant belive you nailed it on the head. Did some research after reading your post, and that appears to be it!

Thanks for your ID

I didn't know they got that big. I thought they were literally the size of a horse hair!
