kodama16 Feb 12, 2007 08:27 PM

I set up a 45 gal hex tank for my white tree frog. it has 2 water bowls and a hide log and a few low branches. however sence the tank is 20 inchs at the base and 2 feet tall every thing is at the bottom. my white is at the top of the tank right under the heat lamp and im afraid its to bright. my question for yall is is there and plants or cover yall can suggest that will be at the top of the tank for him to hide under?

some one told me to buy faje plants from hobby lobby and use them, but do you think they have toxens in them?

thanks all

I would stick to fake plants that are specifically for frogs since they absorb everything through their skin.

They do have vining plants with suction cups that you could put higher up. Also you can use larger pieces of wood, like mopani that you can also put plants on.

There are also plants that will grow up that could fill the tank, I have Pothos and it fills up my tank off just one small plant. It works well for my RETFs but your whites get larger and it may not be stury enough. You can always try it out, it will send off vines and shoots, the vines you can wrap around pieces of wood too to fill up that vertical space.
