YES!!! HE ATE HIS FIRST F/T MOUSE!!!

805Ringo Feb 12, 2007 09:23 PM

Thanks to all who encouraged to not give up on trying to feed a ball python frozen thawed! After reading all the benefits, I knew my baby just had to learn! The first few times I tried, I had just placed the mouse inside the aquarium and he had no interest. This time I bought the large tongs to hold the food. And after thawing out the mouse and then warming it beneath his heat emitter; grasping the mouse, I actually made it jiggle about like it was alive and BANG, he grabed it so fast! I couldn't believe how easily he took to it! I'm so psyched he dosent have to get bit or scratched anymore! And I wont have to worry so much about the parasites found in live prey! YES! Im so happy!
"Thanks again for all the tips and info!"
Sincerely
Vincent the ROYALPython

Congrats on getting your snake to make the switch. I was really happy when both of mine did, and it sure takes the hassle out of finding live food!

It's also nice to read the occasional posts like yours that don't have to do with breeding issues or genetic questions. Just herp lovers enjoying their snakes.

Good luck with the continued F/T routine!
