How many eggs and how many clutches will a souther pine produce in a season?

On average I get 10 - 12 eggs per clutch. Southerns like most Pituophis can double clutch if the female has enough body weight and has retained sperm or had the male introduced again. I personally only try for the one clutch per female though.

Wow! Thats a nice normal patterned southern! I hope mine get that big. I haven't been feeding my c.b. 06 pair alot and they are both easily 30 inches or more. They get 3 f/t rat fuzzies every 5 days or depending on how their weight looks, maybe more or less. Kevin

Double clutching is dangerous though. Even though the female can do it, it can reduce their live span and stunt growth, especially if you do it every season. Its possible, but you have to be REALLY careful.
