I have always found that when I get tired of looking for rats and mice and decide to breed, that's when the snakes want to stop eating. When the snakes start pounding again, that's when the rats and mice stop breeding.
Start freezing surplus for later.

That which does not kill me postpones the inevitable.
I have a female that has only eaten 1 med rat since 9/26/06. My other snakes weren't subjected to cooler temps since they're not big enough so that just makes my other snakes that much fatter!!!

I've got one that hasn't eaten anything since mid September...still amazes me they can do that and lose very little weight. As for breeding rats...man I love letting somebody else do the dirty work lol. I've got a much larger breeder than me right down the road who takes care of me...need rats go get em. I prefer frozen whenever possible...lot less trouble when snakes don't eat. I've been lucky, only that one went off feed for an extended period.
