Lizard Food

DeanBright Feb 13, 2007 10:30 PM

I woke my lizards last week, and have started feeding them turkey. Well just the male because the female hasn't been very active yet. At first the male wasn't too interested. It took some trying, but I got him to eat it, and now that he knows its food eats it as soon as I give it to him. I have been real busy with school and haven't had as many opportunities to feed them as usual, and he doesn't eat all that much of it, but he is gaining weight well. he was kind of thin after brumation, but now his legs are nice and filled in, and his body is looking good.

Turkey. Hmmm...have to try that.

By the way...how much should you feed a collared? I swear my male had trouble getting between two rocks last night because me and the wife both fed him due to a miscommunication.

My male only eats a piece about the size of an adult cricket at a time, sometimes hell eat two pieces. To get him to start eating it I had to put a piece on fishing line. I tied a knot in one end and scooshed a piece of turkey then rolled it around the fishing line, and jiggled it to get his atention. The ground turkey is soft enough that after they bite it, the fishing line can be pulled out.

Do you pull the feathers off first, Morgan???

Sorry...I'm bored stiff (shut up, EVE) sitting at the Indianapolis airport. We got snowed in and our flights cancelled. Supposed to be getting to Tampa today on a new flight...we'll see. My plan was supposed to leave an hour ago, but the flight attendants are snowed in somewhere.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hey Johneee, nasty weather , good luck getting out of there, LOL it's an ice/sleet storm here in NJ, on top of last nights snow. The ice/sleet is terrible, trees are heavy and branches snapping. And the temp is staying about 26 degrees so it will not be melting soon.

Ahhhhhh lonely on Valentines Day, did Cupid shoot you in the butt with a LOVE arrow ? Hahahahhaaaa, hope ya get your flight to Tampa, but better get a few newspapers and keep that laptop handy for chatting.

Call your wife and whisper sweet nothings in her ear, LMAO

Happy Valentines Day buddy!

Eve, I didn't know you were from NJ. I'm a displaced jersey girl. How much did we end up getting?

It's a little chilly down in MIA today... 67...

Ice, ooooh, you must be in south jersey. Justin's dad just flew in last night, they're from New Providence (by summit and short hills mall and livingston) and said there was bout 4 inches... which means at my house (by vernon and jefferson) we probably got slammed.

i came to miami in 2003 for school. the weather is nice but man, it's total culture shock. I've never moved out of the country, but this must be what it feels like. I think they speak more english in spain.
