i have a mother rat with 10 weanlings and the other day i noticed she had a new litter. there was about 4 rat pinkies when i went to check back a few days later they were gone? i have never seen this happen im guesiing it was over crowded for them all though they have plenty of room? anyone have a better guess?

Could be overcrowding, or could be lack of protein
in the mother's diet. Especially when nursing a litter while also pregnant, they need extra protein and fat. I usually try to supplement pregnant and nursing rat's diets with high protein high fat dry kitten food. If I have eggs expiring I'll scramble them up some eggs as well.

i feed them mazuri rodent breeder food 6f5m30. who knows im thinking the weanlings could have eaten them.
