Has anyone had problems with mold in the room with the chams? It just seems like with such high humidity and heavy frequent mistings(species requiring high humidity), the room would be soaked, especially around the enclosure. Any tips?

unless you are pouring water all over the room, i wouldnt think you would have a mold problem!

mols can occur usually in the cage, if it is not cleaned a MINIMUM of 1 time a week, and you would replace the paper towels, or clean the bottom throughly quite often.

you thought that the humidity for your cham would soak your room?! what species of cham? i have a hard time picturing humidity causeing mold to grow within your room!

hope this helps

Thanks for setting me straight. I had read some posts about people spraying their chams for 30 minutes at a time 3 times a day....that has to be several liters of water no matter how fine the spray. I just can't see doing that in a room with wall to wall carpet.
Because I am a newbie, the only cham I am interested in right now is the veiled, so, I know that this really does not apply to me. I was just wondering in case I moved up to a panther or maybe a montane species.

thanks again

30 min 3 a day?!

i spray for about 10 min 2 times a day OR 4-5 times for about 2-3 minutes!

even with my panther, i do not spray that much more than i did with my veiled!

hope this helps!
