Panamanian Boas Breeding...

ghireptiles Feb 14, 2007 05:20 PM

The group of reverse striped hypo Panamanian boas that I have are now 20 months old and after being able to find zero information on breeding sizes or ages of them and after talking to a few boa breeders I decided to put them together about a month ago. I haven't witnessed any copulation but the female is ravenous and growing very quickly. This is what I saw while checking in on them this afternoon.

Awesome Matt !! Thats good news ... I thought they were still too young but thats the thing with the CA "dwarf" boas, they can breed early if they have the size to them ... anyway, good luck with them !

cheers, John

Yeah we got 2.2 Panamanians from that group. The males are ready, half, maybe a third the size of those. The females will hopefully be up to size for next season.
I want to see some US Captive Bred Panamanians! But I will say these have been great boas.

John, how are your looking/doing?

JohnBerry Feb 16, 2007 11:57 AM

Chris, I sold my Hypo Panamanian project ... Vin Russo got the sub adults ... I could kick myself for letting them go ... but too many morphs, not enough space or time ... think you know what I mean ..

cheers, John

Very nice "Red Stripes", Matt!

Those are going to make a mark on the captive boa population.
