I was just wondering where different posters live. Who knows some of us could be in the same city and not even know it. I am in Houston Texas.

SE Alaska.
That's interesting, always wondered how people adjust to the twilight months of the year.
Photos from Alaska/ wildlife, programs I watch are just Magnificent. Looks absolutely breathtaking there.

The amount of daylight really depends on where you are in the state. SE is a lot like British Columbia or Seattle. Our shortest winter days are about 6 hours long, but the twilight periods are long. In winter it rains and snows a lot, so you would be spending more time indoors anyway. Actually, I have more trouble adjusting to the 18 hour summer days. Tend to lose a lot more sleep. Also, in winter no bugs!
That's TOO weird for me, can't imagine, LOL I hear it drives some nuts!
Have you always lived there, or moved there and had to adjust?

I've moved around a lot, and lived in AK several times. SE is not as big an adjustment as the northern interior! We don't have the severely cold winters, the hot days in summer (when the sun circles directly overhead for 2 months the temperature can hit 80F and stay there day and night until the weather changes), quite as many bugs, and our sun does set and rise every day. A hot day for us is 70F. In some ways SE is more remote than the interior. Few roads, poor flying weather, and very rugged country. We mostly get around by ferry, boat, or small aircraft.
Carlton,
I spent a couple of summers in Skagway... know it?
I had trouble with the "Midnight Sun" too. Thank goodness for black-out drapes!! LOL

You are probably right!! I go to one or two of the show's in Portland every year and the one in Puyallup I go to every year. If I'm not walking around drooling.. I usually hang out with Paul Davis and his girlfriend Jessica, or with Darren from Driftwood frogs... Good people!
When are you gonna have a booth set up again??? There is a show next month about a mile from my work.....
