Aner deppei deppei possibilities

Al Stotton Aug 11, 2003 09:27 AM

Referring to an interesting point raised by Steve.G the possibilties for this snake are quite fascinating indeed.
The mention of cornsnakes (Elaphe.g.guttata)got my mind racing somewhat!lol.
I have only Pituophis species in my collection nowadays, but i have in fact kept and bred a large variety of corns in the past inc. some "U.K. firsts".
The list of colour mutations is far to large to list, as most of you will be only too aware.Ironically the first of these was the ANER striped corn which set me on route to snow stripes.
Using that experience as a yard stick if you like got me to thinkin........If someone ever finds/breeds an albino/amel deppei deppei and i have the aner..........!!??

This i know is quite a controversial thought from a certain standpoint, and i must be wholly honest and admit it sort of splits my 50-50 really.Im findin my self playin devils advocate with myself as i type!!.
I know one thing for sure the birth/hatch of that little aner has "re-launched" an interest in reptiles for me personally in general.
The interest had waned almost completely for me just recent and i had considered stopping with the whole reptile game on a number of occasions.

peace.

going to hopefully continue with the keeping and breeding of Pituophis. That little anery does make the mind wander...just what could be in the near future for deppei? Thanks again, and best of luck with these guys, hopefully you will have a few more next year from the same adults!
Have a good day,
Gregg F.
