Tear drops?

Jake_Jackson Feb 15, 2007 02:12 PM

I have my dragon still going strong, but I've noticed a few things wrong with him since our time together. For starts, a toe or two was nipped off before I got him. But thats not bothering him I dont think.

But to the point, I think he has sand in one of his eyes, because he always squints just that one. He will open it but soon close it, and leave it shut for a few minutes before opening again, while the other eye stays completely open.

Reading Phillipi DeVosilj (hope i speeled it right) he mentions tear drops for this, so my question is what are tear drops? Are they the same as visine? or should I head over to Petsmart and get some certain kind of "tear drops"?

In the grocery store you can buy artificial tears. They're in the section with contact lens stuff. You can also use regular saline solution found in the same section. Just make sure it's not some kind of cleaner or disinfectant but just sterile saline solution. I also agree with the previous poster that if the problem continues to see a vet.

On another note, sometimes beardies just have one eye open and one closed. Especially if their feeling a little sleepy.
