Camera Question

I am about a day away from ordering the Pentax K10D camera. Does anyone use this camera? Would you recommend something different for the same price or under?

It is about $1200, body, two lenses, one is a 1:2 macro, grip, card, card reader, tripod...etc.

I want it for the snakes, and for vacation pics. It is probably a bit of overkill, but I want a dSLR, and for the price, I think it is pretty nice. All the reviews are good, but I have been thinking about the Nikon D80 too. It is a very tough choice.

Dave...you have to go with the Pentax. I remember you saying a few weeks/months ago that this was your camera of choice. I say you order it tonight to save the second guessing...LOL...

I'm a nikon guy myself and just started working in a camera shot part time. I am eyeing the D80 or the D200 myself. I am probably going to pick up the D80 though. If you have Pentax already and have lenses that mate to it I wouldnt say change brands, so you can use all your old gear.

I do not own a nice camera now, so have no old lenses. The big arguement FOR buying a Canon or Nikon is the abundance of lenses, flashes, etc., that are available for the Nikon and Canon cameras. I will probably never own more than 3 or 4 lenses, most probably macro lenses. The Pentax has the dust removal system, and the anti shake system in the body, the Nikon has niether. Plus, the IS or VR lenses for Canon and Nikon cost almost as much as the Camera, the Pentax lenses are much cheaper, because the IS is in the camera. That is why I have decided on Pentax, although Nikon and the D80/D200 came in a close second.
