Friday Pics, the Genesis project no D/U

rainbowsrus Feb 16, 2007 02:07 AM

As promised, now that they've settled in, I've taken pics of
Eve, Genevieve and the whole Addams family. For anyone who
didn't catch the story, a WC/Gravid female (Eve) dropped her
litter at the wholesalers. In that litter was the wildest
looking striped hypo I've ever seen (Eve). I managed to snatch
up the whole group including Eve, Genevieve and 5.2 pos hypo
siblings (The Addams Family). So now I have my own line of
hypos not directly related to any other line.

First up is the female originator of the line, Eve. Since one
of her babies was hypo, she must be het for hypo. She is deep
red and came in thin as a corn snake with a few battle scars.
She has already taken a rat and has not been aggressive at
all.

(sorry for the large pic size, if you want to see smaller ones, please go to mhy website, BRB collection and photo gallery pages)

Next up is the striped hypo Genevieve (gen-of-eve). She has so
many connected side spots it's crazy, I've never seen anything
like her. Add to that she's also a bullseyre and WOW. Look at
the main stripe mid-body (both sides) and you'll see one dark
spot at each end connected by solid crescent color. Many of
the other side spots are also connected into smaller stripes.
Hope she will pass some of this striping onto her offspring.

For a little contrast, Eve and her two sisters Morticia and
Wednesday. Note one sister is more of a eclipse (no crescent)
and the other has thick crescents in slightly elongated side
spots.

Pos het hypo female "Morticia"

Pos het hypo female "Wednesday"

Pos het hypo male "Gomez"

Pos het hypo male "Fester"

Pos het hypo male "Pugsley"

Pos het hypo male "Lurch"

Pos het hypo male "Thing"

Great pics Dave as usual, another diverse litter for a guy with a very diverse collection. I really enjoyed those pics of Genevieve and also found a liking to Wednesday and you can't go wrong with a name like Fester. However, for some reason or another I couldn't stop looking at Gomez-I don't know if it is his contrast or what but I like his look. Eve was a bit small looking as you mentioned but will fit very cozy in your house I would imagine thanks for sharing and keep us posted.

It really is a cool litter. Besides the 66% pos hypo for each, there are a lot of different looks going on (and sprinkled accross the group). Only Thing has "crescents" that are actually crescent shaped. Some have thicker bars like Morticia, Gomez and Fester. Others like Wednesday, Pugsley and Lurch have minimal blotchy crescents. I see some full eclipse blotches on Wednesday, Fester, Pugsley and Lurch. They all have nice contrast and looks like the sides (at night) will be really white as adults.

Whoa!! Those are some fantastic pictures of some awesome animals! That Genevieve sure is a looker. I really like the thick black striping on Gomez as well. Thanks for sharing, and keep those pictures coming!

Yeah, when I first heard of them I quickly decided I had to have them all. They are an awesome group and looking forward to their possibilities.

Btw, your two are fine hanging out with me until we can get them to you.

Yeah, the Genesis project! A slip or do you really like my suggestion for a name.
Genevieve is just a wild looking animal. One of a kind. Her coloration, to my untrained eye (I'm really a morph newbie), looks super light. What defines a hypo? Is it a lack of black pigmentation or just a major reduction? I think there is a link somewhere on here with definitions, I'll look it up.
Obviously you'll be keeping Genevieve. If your selling some of the other siblings you should put a high price tag on 'Thing'. That snake will be flat out gorgeous.
Last question; do you know what country the female was purportedly exported from?
Keep the pics coming.
Thanks for sharing,
Paul

Even though I decided not to name any of them Genesis, I did like the name for the group/project.

In BRB's Hypo is a overall reduction of color, not just the black but also the red/orange as well.

Smirk, none of the group is for sale. I'm planning on proving out het status on each one. Depending on how they look as adults might sell some of the non hets.

According to the wholesaler Eve came straight from Surinam.

I should have taken out a loan! LOL!!!!!! Dave, that is one awesome group of animals. I'm totally blown away by Genevieve. So now we'll have the Colling line of hypos along with the EBV (which I think really should be the Lockwood line) and the DB line. Wow. BRB world sure is getting exciting if you ask me.

Hindsight is always 20/20. I knew as soon as I heard of them that they would be a great opportunity. That's exactly why I wasted no time securing the deal for the entire group. I have to admit, besides Genevieve, I'm totally pleased with Eve and the other siblings. Most were bought sight unseen.

It will take some time before the Colling line will be available but I do have the capacity and diversity to take the line forward.

Yes, I too believe the EBV line should be referred to as the Lockwood line but probably too late to change. Some of my conversations with Mike definatley fed my decision to buy the entire group.

LOL, your collection is a bit diverse no? I know this would probably take some time, but perhaps you could put up a post with the best of the best. You have the best rainbows I have ever seen in one collection, dont BS me and try to be soooo modest, YOU KNOW IT AND LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT Anery, Orange , red, Hypos OH MY!!!

I would love to see your previous lineup and the new group in one post to realy teach the dial up peeps why they may want to switch to cable. Plus some people may not realize just how diverse you collection is.

I really have been working on bringing in outstanding animals along with holding back knockouts. My intent has always been to have a very diverse collection so I can provide many unrelated animals. That initial plan is dovetailing nicely with the morphs. I can use all my unrelated normals for outcrossing and create very strong morph lines along with my normals.

Want Thing all you want.....he's mine! Maybe if you're really nice, I'll let you buy one of his babies?

I was stunned when I first saw Eve, first at how skinny she is moreso since I was pulling her out of the bag and could feel her better than I could see her. Then when she was out, WOW she is sooooo deep red, probably the darkest red BRB I have. And she has that same broken up crescent thing going on. I've heard speculatios that the broken up and/or blotchy crescents might be a marker for het-hypo.
