Unfortunatly, it does. I had a 4ft albino atrox do the same thing.
Easy to fix with pipe insulation or spray foam. Check under the track also.

Pipe insulation works very well. I did discover, however, that one of our rattlers (a Northern Pacific) will go off feed if it doesn't have access to the lip - he loves to climb. Someone on another forum recommended a small, telescopic mirror that is used in the auto industry. I now use it all the time when I can't get a visual.

I lost one of my large atrox that that had got wedged in the upper space of my vision cage. Guess he had tried to crawl through and got stuck and suffocated over night. Clark

I didn't think death adders would ever leave the ground... never actually seen one in real life before. They're just always pictured flat on the ground.

Hey Al, it was a shame how they ripped into you on Reptile's Canada without you even there. I tried to defend you, but you know how everyone's their own expert. Not that their opinion matters, but it still sucks.

An easy fix for this is to put a piece of PVC pipe into the upper lip.

Put some end caps on the pipe and screw or rivet the pipe in place.

This will prevent any hot from hanging out on the lip.

Isn't a good practice to always know where the Venomous Snake is in the cage before putting your hands in???

Phobos Feb 26, 2007 07:17 PM

Yes, but not everybody does that.
