I was wondering what you guys thought about owning a Wild caught monitor? Is it really bad as everyone says it is ? (I hear they will never be handle-able and usually just end-up dying)

The problem with WC animals is that they are frequently very beat up,dehydrated and run down. Even if they were captured in good condition the journey in crates is very hard on an animal. The normal protozoa, bacteria, mites that don't harm a healthy wild animal can run amuck on a stressed and weakened one. It's not 100% true in every case, but it is frequent enough that you would be starting with a beat up animal vs. one that has had all the advantages of flourishing, etc in a CBB. Some can live good, long lives and reproduce, but not as often as a CBB.
99% of the monitors available for sale are imported animals. babies are a better choice than older animals, certainly, but quality varies greatly between dealers. do your research, don't by from someone called "Stinky Butt Reptiles" (or some other asinine "business name"
and choose wisely on both species and source.
