Greetings
It's 9:38 and I just checked our no-longer pregnant snake---we have baby red-tails!!!! But now that we have them, what do we do with them. We're currently taking them out of the tank where mama is, but do we need to clean them, feed them...etc etc. Help?????

Don't let them dry out, place them on wet paper towels for a strata.

Good luck,
caden

O, my GF posted the last message. Since then I have removed all the babies from the moms enclosure. We were NOT expecting babies. We had a guess the mom may be pregnant but we were going to take her to the vet Monday to confirm if this was the case, she was compacted or what. Well... 20 live babies have come out of her. She seems VERY hungry. Is it ok to feed her right away? I put all the babis in a sterilite on a paper towel substrate and we have sprayed them down. What temps should I keep them at? 80s as the mom? I can't do much temp veriation in the sterilite unfortunately so what is the ideal I should shoot for right now? Is there anything else we should do for them at the moment? In the morning I'm going to go get a bunch of smaller sterilites to seperate. We don't have heating for that many at the moment but we do have our snake room temp controled at 82f. Please... any and all advice is MUCH apreciated. I don't have a digi cam but I will try to use my web cam to get some pics up. THANK YOU!!!!

Do you have a human heat pad or heat tape (with a controller), both these work for temp situations till you get yourself set up for this.

Last resort is place the tub sealed but with airholes in moms cage and protected so mom does not tip over or crush tub.

Feeding I would wait another day or to, she can go without for a bit and this way the stress does not mess her up and the meal.

All the babies weren't out of their sacks when I moved them into the sterilite. I helped them out of their sacks. The sacks were each attached to them so the first one I removed it and it bled a little. So I didn't do that with any of the others just in case... um... Amd I doing this right? Thank you.

Sorry, just a bit freaked out. I realy don't want anything bad to happen to these babies for my not being ready or prepared or realy having any clue..

in order for you to properly take care of them maybe you should talk to someone on the phone. i was talking to boawomen and she said it was ok to give you her number(4237339991), she is there for help. she knows what she is doing!!!!!

do not help them out of their sacks, let them do this on their owne!!!! last resort only

So I had a nice long talk with Boalady and she was a GREAT aid in our baby program here. lol All the babies are now comfortable in their sterilite till the morning. Mom is mad but adjusting. There are 20 babies in all and here are the pictures my little web cam could take. I will get a friends digi manana so I can put up some better pics.
