I saw a classified add that said they where diffrent and I also googled them and I think nolvasan kills viruses but chlorhexidine doesent, but chlorhexidine is generic for nolvasan? but it doesent kill viruses.
I dont know whats going on,might just be a marketing tactic.
Chlorhexidine is used in hospitals as a hand scrub because it kills everything including viruses.

Chlorhexadine gluconate is a bactricide, great for cleaning water bowls, cages, etc.
Chlorhexadine diacitate(Nolvasan)is a virucidebactricide.
The gluconate is really all you need unless you have a bacterial or viral out break. Thats all I use and it works great.
I hope this helps.
Joe.
Read the container of Chlorhexidine. To kill everything you need to increase the concentration. The label tells you how much solution to use for each application. (cleaning vs sterilizing) I am able to buy a gallon from the farming supply store nearby. (Fleet Farm)
