Put a face to your name. Don't be shy!

BAZ Feb 17, 2007 02:45 PM

How about everyone posts a picture of themselves on this thread. It would be great to actually put a face to all of the names on here.

I'll start:

Sorry about that Brother!
That was my English Bulldog "Nunzio".
Here is me with my female Indigo!

DRep Feb 17, 2007 10:41 PM

What'd you ever do with your water dragons? I remember you posting some pics of them in that forum...they looked good, same with their enclosure. I'm assuming you got rid of them...?

MikesMonitors Feb 18, 2007 10:32 AM

Yes I got rid of them. They are very cool critters just not my cup of meat!
Mike

BAZ Feb 18, 2007 09:51 AM

Nice Indigo Mike! Did you get new ink done?

MikesMonitors Feb 18, 2007 10:36 AM

Thanks, the Indigo is a friend for my children.
Yes I got a few more tats, sleeved both of my arms!

Mike

BAZ Feb 18, 2007 11:40 AM

Haha yeah she is smokin eh? I took the pics and then did a bit of photoshopping on them. Its a hobby thats turnin into a part time profession.

chonjoepython Feb 18, 2007 11:16 PM

mike, he is 4 years old. Gusto is his name. If not for him i would be the house dummy. Bless his heart. And youre right NOONE can resist a english bull pup.
thanx
joe

MikesMonitors Feb 19, 2007 05:54 AM

Joe
Aside from Gusto being a hardhead like all EBD's, have you been able to train him well?
Nunzio is a very good boy!
He is house broken, sits, lays down, gives paw, rolls over and speeks all on command!
Mike

chonjoepython Feb 19, 2007 12:42 PM

Mike, gusto is pretty well trained. He doesnt do any tricks, but will come when called, and sit on command. It was strange going from a chocolate lab, so eager to learn new stuff, to a bull(not so eager) I was really only concerned about the come when called part, as i feel this the most important "trick". All in all gusto is a good boy, and we love him, and want another ebd one day. By the way yours is gorgeous, very light tan, and your croc monitors are pretty cool too! Here is another pic with gusto in it. See if you can find him.
thanx
joe

chonjoepython Feb 19, 2007 12:53 PM

You do have croc monitors dont you??? Maybe it was someone else on here, another Mike perhaps?

MikesMonitors Feb 19, 2007 05:53 PM

Joe
I see Gusto, and his TEETH!
How old was he when his teeth started to show?
Yes, I have kept a large group of Salvadorii in the past.
Mike

chonjoepython Feb 19, 2007 11:46 PM

Mike, his underbite is the best ive ever seen. It has been that way since he was four or five months old. it really is crazy. One of my favorite games is to have him sit and stay while i place a piece of food on his exposed lower jaw. After a second of just sitting there, gusto will snap the food into the air for a split second and catch and eat it. Its very funny to see his look cross eyed at the food and then nail it. His under bite has been compared to a open cash register.
joe

BrianT Feb 18, 2007 06:09 PM

Mike, you give a whole new meaning to the saying "they're more afraid of you, than you are of them." Haha, just kidding man...nice ink by the way.
Not on here nearly as much as I used to be, but figure I'll contribute.

FR Feb 18, 2007 12:26 PM

But it will, and I will add some other things I do.

First I grew up wrestling, snake keeping and hunting and of course chasing girls. All three with vigor and passion.

There was three of us, One majored in wrestling, the other reptiles(me) and the other, girls. Remember, we all did them all, but there was specialist.

Heres a pic of the three of us at the wrestling nationals a couple of years ago in St. Louis. The three on the right. The far right is Nick, he specialized in girls, then wrestling, then reptiles. The second from the right is Jim, he specialized in wrestling(third in the nation at heavies, OK state), then girls, then reptiles Then me in the brown coat, of course reptiles was my thing, then wrestling and girls. The fourth fella also wrestled at OK state( which is currently two time defending national champs)

one night at the hotel, Otto( from Japan, two time olympic silver metalist at 191) were trying to relive the past, doing handstands. I USE to be very good at this. Both of us are around sixty now. Still got it going on.

At least we could have kept our feet together.

here are some pics when I was young and messing with snakes

Heres a pic a few years ago of Daniel Bennett on our study site. I love this pic. Just doing a little advertisement for Daniels Chat on the fouth.

Ok heres me within the last decade or so,

I do have a pic of me dressed up like a lady, but you will have to say please for that. Cheers

jburokas Feb 18, 2007 01:18 PM

How about, "please don't!!!"

BAZ Feb 18, 2007 01:37 PM

Wicked photos Frank. The one with the rattler striking out of the water is brilliant!

MikeT Feb 19, 2007 07:38 AM

Great pics and bios Frank. Sounds like a great bunch of guys.
I think I'd fit right in with you all. For me it's a damn close for first - girls and reptiles, then the wrestling in third, though for me it's boxing and mixed martial arts. These three things are my passion. So basically, if I'm at the Daytona Reptile Show and a fight breaks out between some gorgeous females who begin tearing eachothers clothes off, well, I've basically died and gone to heaven.

pgross8245 Feb 20, 2007 06:10 PM

Thanks Mike. You are welcome to steal all the name you want. This is my first cyclura...I guess I wasn't prepared for such a little spaz. A friend of mine has had quite a few and told me they need a lot of patience and handling while small. It is getting better. I don't know if you noticed it does not have a name. Not knowing if it is m/f, it is hard to pick a generic name. My friend suggested Pschocyclura, very funny. Take care.

That picture of me and the blackthroat was taken at a petshop. They no longer have them last I knew but they were nice monitors.

My cages are currently all out in my monitor barn. Used to be on my back porch when I lived at the old house (where the other pic was taken). I didn't have any newer ones of myself.

do you have to give her vitamin k injections??"

MikeT Feb 20, 2007 09:38 PM

I've had her for two years, since she was a baby. She's done great so far without supplements of any kind. I really try to balance out the diet. The Leaf Eater has quite a bit vit K. So far so good. I've talked to many zoos to try and work out a good diet. They say they really don't need Vit K supplement if you do the diet right, except maybe if a female is menstrating. So we'll see. Tamanduas are very tricky animals and I've been very fortunate so far.
