Rubbermaids and balls

So, I made a post a bit before, and it was in regards to rubbermaids and photoperiods.

Along the same lines, are you to use a totally clear rubber maid in contrast to a foggy transluscent white container?

and also it was mentioned that they don't NEED a distinct temp change to be happy, but provision of a photoperiod can't hurt, so is it to be provided via just a light just NEAR the rubbermaid?

I use clear tubs and flourescent shop lighting that lights the whole room on a timer for 12 on 12 off. Sometimes the lights are on 14 because I'm working in there late...doesn't seem to matter.
