I'm currently setting up a 20 gallon long tank for a king or milksnake I plan on getting at the end of march. I want to know about what wattage of bulb I'll need to heat the warm side to around 85-86 degrees.

It depends on other things, such as room temperature, as well as tank size. You will need to try a few different bulb sizes until you get the right temps.
