my first black pine from Manassas show

wisema2297 Feb 17, 2007 07:46 PM

Bought my first pit today. I have always admired them from afar and I finally broke down and bought this 06 female black pine. I picked her up at the Manassas, VA show and can't remember who I bought it from. He said that he posts adds on KS so hopefully he will read this and chime in so I can properly document my snakes come breeding time!! Thanks.

Cool! What kind of attitude does He/She have?

so far so good, but it was a little on the cold side inside the show. We'll see in a few days after she warms up and gets hungary.

Great looking snake. Ever since I've discovered that they get about the same size as Gophers I want one.

reako i'm pretty sure black pines get a little bigger than most gophers my 04 female is right at 65" and about as big around as a beer can she hasn't been power fed. The black pines also poo alot more than any other pit i've owned and i have no idea how they get it to the top of my vision 432 but maybe they just like playing with there scatt. They are the coolest snake i've ever owned and i can't wait to bring them out of brumation in another week and a half. i got a late start this year. the male is in the picture and he is about 5' 7"

That's gotta be about one of the coolest pics I've seen. Great lookin' snake. Looks pretty much all black. Any ventral patterning? Out here (SoCal) it's SAID that Gophers top out @ 6' (w/ some reports of up to 7'). I, personally, am still waiting to see a good 6 footer in the wild. 65" for a Black Pine is the perfect size.
