More breeding activity starring........

rainbowsrus Feb 18, 2007 01:40 AM

Savannah!!

Caught her tonight with Nathan, one of my 2004 males. Funny story, I bought him and several others as a group, picked out a couple of females to keep and sold off the rest. Never sexed them myself and raised them up, Ended up loaning a couple of "girls" out and my buddy tells me one was courting his male instead of the other way around. OOPPSS!!
took this pic......

And a closeup.......Money shot!!

Congrats on the activity but where was Lefty? I was wondering when you were gonna post your pairings under your breeding section on your website but I know it is a busy time of year for you. One more question Dave, do you turn up the the daytime high a little when you know your female is gravid (to help thermoregulate) or just give her the same daytime high as before cooling?

I don't know what's up with Lefty. Last year he did nothing and this year wasn't looking any better. I put in the other male to see if that would trigger anything. I did get a good tidbit from Jeff. Next year prior to male/female introduction, I will house males together and see if I can get their hormones stirred up first.

I've been meaning to do that but never seem to get around to it. I give the gravid females normal temps.

So I was looking at Designer Morphs again today and noticed someone other than Mike with the "Lockwood line" of Hypos. I saw your Albino Arabesque female in there too. Who is she gonna have a fling or two with? Het. Stripe? That has to feel good to have one of your animals in there but if they had a book about just brb's, then it would be an accomplishment for anyone other than you to have their brb pictured in the book lol

??? there are only two pics of hypos in the book, one from Mike and one from Celia (EBN) Yes Celia's animals tie back to Mike through EBV but the book does not indicate that.

My primary plan for my Albino Arabesque is to mate here with a Sunglow male. Hope to produce him this spring!

I meant other people that regularly post on this forum other than Mike had featured animals in the book but I know there is only the "Lockwood line" of hypos in DM.

Maybe you should try and tape your males courting the females and put the video on youtube...that'd be cool to see, with all that chin rubbing or whatever BRBs do to get the ladies in the mood.
