of course! even the chickens had names. "birdface", "ugly", and "spotbutt" being my personal favorites.

those are eggs that look like they got too wet. all you can do is make sure the substrate is "right" and wait to see if they make it. Good luck.

Josh, wouldn't candling be a beneficial way to check the eggs for viability? "Rugha" said it had been 8 days after laying. As long as the eggs don't get rotated, I would think that would be the quickest and clearest way to figure out if they are still viable.

I agree they look a bit wet.

Have you candled them to see if they are fertile? If they are green and stinky they are dead - if they are just a little wet you can try covering the "wet" spots with Liquid band-aid - be careful you don't cover too much of the egg with the band-aid otherwise it wont breathe and will die anyway. If they start to mold there are several treatments available for that - Methelene Blue, athletes foot powder, or diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide solutions.
