I was doing a little spring cleaning and noticed very tiny small, bugs on one of my house plants, I also keep a variety og herps, snakes and turtles. and was wondering if they could go from plants to reptiles? iv'e had reptile mites about 4 years ago and don't want to deal with them again. I have put the plant out, sprayed the area with a flea and tick killing solution. I need help asap thaks so much

well, the good news is that chances are these have nothing to do with reptile parasitism. They are likely just one of a zillion species of bugs that inhabit the average home. However, to be sure, you can take a wickely macro size picture of one and compare it to pictures online, just google snake mite and I'm sure you'll find some. Concentrate on mouth parts and abdomonal shape for classifacation.
The easiest solution would be of course, just keep an extra close eye on your reptiles until the worry is over.

yea, only one species of mite is contracted by reptiles...the snake mite. i have them right now and believe me. you don't want them. the good news for you is that the mite is only passed from reptile to reptile or form human to reptile (from another reptile).
