PLEASE HELP!: Snow Problem

shedthegear Feb 19, 2007 02:22 PM

I just recently noticed this issue with my '06 Female Snow Boa. She hasn't eaten in about 2 weeks, but she was in shed last week.

She shed on Saturday and also took a poop that day.

I noticed this cyst-like bulge in her anus and it's gotten me a bit worried.

I soaked her for a few minutes this morning and managed to squeeze out a pea-sized ball of calcium. But, as you can see, she still isn't looking too good down there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

take he to the vet? I had a snake that squeezed out a solid uriate which is what the thing you saw was. If you are really worried just try to take her to your vet.

good luck.

that is beyond my scope of assistance, so my opinion would be vet, stat.

If it looks like she has caused some type of tearing in her rectum I would take her to a ver ASAP!! If looks like she has just iritated the area I would clean the spot with a little Nolvasan also known as Chlorahexidine Diacetate, you could also use Betadine but that will definitely stain her scales until she sheds again! Anyway that is a pretty nice investment animal and being a female I would probably take her to the vet just to insure no internal injure was sustained! Oh yeah never squeese things out of a snake, she will evacuate her bowls when she is ready!!!!
