Possible Gravid Eryx Muelleri...help?

loloboa Feb 19, 2007 03:29 PM

At the recent NARBC show, I purchased an Eryx Muelleri. The gentleman i purchased her from told me that she was probably gravid and would be laying eggs soon. does any one have any -detailed- information about the needs of these species as far as egg laying and incubation? I would be most grateful for any help at all. at the moment, she is in a 29 long terrarium with newspaper as a substrate until her quarantine is over. the hot side of her tank is about 94, the cool at about 73, and she tends to hang out in the middle.

I have two Kenyan Sand boa males, and I know about their habits and how to keep those particular snakes, but the Muelleri is new to me....i am not particularly interested in breeding and rearing young, but i figure i should do my best to try and hatch these, as they are somewhat rare and i don't want to endanger the mother's health, and right now, all i have is
a packet of HatchRite and a desire to do well by this snake XD

thanks so much in advance!
