Shedding?

Shellabelle1980 Feb 19, 2007 03:59 PM

I moved my beardie into his new 55 gal tank, and he's started shedding, and since the move he hasn't shown much interest in his veggies, where before he was wolfing them down . . . could this be because he's shedding? or because of the new environment? (Great appetite for crickets still).

I agree with the last poster. Although, I've never had a beardie that eat less because of shedding but I've heard it happens.

Regarding UVB, a standard 55 Gal. tank is 22" tall and needs a 10.0% UVB or a mercury vapor bulb. A 5.0 is only good for 12" unobstucted. Just a thought.

Morwyn slowed her eating a bit the last time she shed on her head, but not too much.
