The tortoise and the hare!

John-C Feb 19, 2007 04:29 PM

This south mountain male is recovering nicely from an
eye infection. The other eye was a little teary as well
so I've been medication both with antiseptic gel. I put
him indoors on paper and the eyes are looking much better.
He might just go back out with his carrot tail lady friend
in a few days.

The tortoise stays ... lol.

The poor carrot tail probably caught the infection from the tortoise. Never mix species LOL

Oh boy, I really goofed didn't I? I should
have realized that a tortoise and chuckwalla
just don't' do well together.

Ok, problem solved as I took the tortoise
outdoors. Now maybe the carrot tail will
have a more speedy recovery.

Thanks for to great info Johneeee.

2.5 more days in Florida. I haven't been anywhere too exciting to see the lizards this year. I figured I'd at least visit the red head agamas or the spiny iguanas, but most of my time has been spent close to my parents. I've been here since Valentines Day, and the weather finally broke 70 degrees yesterday. Ah well...there's always next year.
