I also use 4" pvc pipe but I rout out the inner lip so the cup will sit flush. This allows the cup to fit in without sticking and provides more weight so the cup is harder to tip. You can kinda see it in this picture. I will take some pictures tonight and post later.

I use 4.5 inch PVC conduit that you can buy in 10 ft lengths rom an electrical supply company. Cut it to the right height depending on whether you use 8oz, 12oz, or 16oz deli cups. The deli cups just fit inside. Saves having to route out the 4 inch or having the cups stick up.
Wish I could take credit for being so smart but Brian Barczyk turned me on to this.
You can't even imagine how much time disposable deli cups will save you. It is now easy to provide clean fresh water to 400 snakes. I have about 500 stoneware water dishes that are now just taking up space gathering dust and will never be used again.

Thats all I use for my adults... Its very easy to keep clean conditions on a large collection of snakes.. I will give you this advice though... DO NOT USE PVC. They make another type of PVC for drainiage Use that the 16oz deli cups fit in there perfectly.. This can be bought at any Home Depot... And they cost about 1.10 each...
