Hi everyone
I was checking out Bob's awesome new site and I came across the Günther, A. C. 1893 Biologia Centrali-Americana that had the "original description of Lampropeltis leonis, based on a specimen from Nuevo Leon...illustrated by a line drawing, and clearly represents the leonis-phase morph of “thayeri” below.

It inspired me to take a quick snapshot of one of my 06 females that looks very similar to the 100 plus year old illustration. I thought it was just so cool. Here's her pic.

It really amazes me how natural beauty never fades just as nature inteded it to be. We could only imagine how the illustrated animal looked like as the artist created this classic thayeri illustration.
