Elaphe anomala vs. Elaphe schrencki

Jan Grathwohl Feb 20, 2007 08:27 AM

Hi

Just got a few shots of juveniles of these two species for comparison.

These species are nearly related, and by some treated as subspecies of schrencki. Most seem though to consider them different species.

Great comparison shots Jan, and such different personalities for two species that look so much alike Do you find that the anomala are more aggresive and shy than the schrencki ?

I find the anomalas to be a bit more shy, but actually two of the schrenckis i have are quite aggressive - which none of my anomalas are.
