I have not done it myself, but we are building one at the zoo I work at this year. Its going to be a large, planted greenhouse with a few water features. It will be divided into two large enclosures, one on each side lengthwise with a path going down the middle. One side will be for a breeding trio or Rhino Iguanas and the other a large butterfly garden. We are using a fine, almost invisible mesh for the butterflies, and some other type of strong, coated mesh/fencing for the Rhinos. Its taking a long time to build and is a joint project with the Herp department and the Hort department.
I have toyed around getting one of those greenhouse in a box kits and doing something like this for my green iguanas, but it just seems like a lot of work, but has the plus of being able to heat it in the winter so the iggys can have natural UV year round. I'm interested in hearing if anyone else has ideas too.
>>Now, I can no way do this right now, but its been a small dream of mine. I'm wondering if anyone has or has seen some small backyard greenhouses that they converted into a large scale habitat. I'd like to have one big enough for a small stream to go through it with some bushes and things. Any pics or ideas would be awsome.
