I almost never see nice looking female pastels.

Thanks. I produced a few like her the last two years. Traded most away. Could kick myself for that. Soo this year I'll be keeping a few more back for future breedings.

If I did there is no way I would sell any females for the price they are going for these days. I'd hold them all back and make pastel het for whatevers.

Thats is my plan also. I have a male pastel coming and im keeping all his girls. At least for awhile. Allthough i realize there may not be much demand for albino pastels i want to have as many different morphs and desinger morphs in my COLLECTION as possible. I cant wait to hatch a pastel pied and/or a spider pied.

normals in my group and have nothing but morph to morph breedings. Soo I'm going to need an army of female pastels to cross. I think they are so underrated just by their cross potential alone. To me who cares how many are out there! Their worth more to me to keep then to dump just for the quik buck. Not saying I won't sell some but for the time I put into this if noone will pay what I want for one, I guess I'll just build a snake building on my property. Sorry went off a little,

Lol yah a little. feel better now? You know its not as easy as one would think to get there hands on a GOOD LOOKING female pastel. I mean i didnt do a all out hunt for them but when i was shopping around i couldnt find a female of the looks i wanted for the price i wanted call me picky. I do have my male coming and will be buying him a female next year. Hopefully a big enough one lol.

Hey, picky is good. I've been looking for a year for a girlfriend for mine. They are not bad quality or even bad looking, just not what I'm looking for.

As far as holding back for breeding, I think it is definitely more impressive to be able to breed a designer morph than buy one. Anyone with the money can buy one, but it takes work and effort to produce them.

What exactly are you looking for in a pastel other than a cheap price? I'm just wandering what trates people want other than the obveous no browning out, and contrast? And yes I'm with ya on the ,why by a double homo when you can watch it hatch. I can't wait!

As far as Pastels, I'm looking for something that looks like a Pastel. Nice yellow, good pattern, and of course contrast. A lot of the pastels I have seen just look like really cool normals or high gold. I had a pastel male that looked like a Super Pastel.

Now, more picky on other morphs. Color, pattern, certain shades, size and overall look of the individual snake. It can be as small as I don't like the way the head looks. Not enough white or too much white.

It's like this. I'm looking for a truck. Not just any truck but a 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport 4X4 in Solar Yellow. I would like the V8 and a Standard Trans. I don't want a 2000 or the SLT or blue or V6 or an Automatic. When I look for a snake, I do the same thing. Then when I get it, don't look at someone else's and think, "Dang it, I should have gotten that one". And price is just a grey area. I want a good price. The best price would be better, but reasonable is doable. I don't want to pay $6K for a Pastel but I realize I won't find one for $50 either. Unless you know where I can get one for 50.

But again, that's just me.

I see alot of the (high gold normal looking)pastels that you speak of, and alot of times advertised as smokin. Sounds to me like your the Shallow Hal (the movie) of the snake world.LOL Poor (low end) snakes ain't good enough for you. LOL
Casey

jdillow Feb 22, 2007 05:37 PM

Oh No. I would buy a high gold normal, but at normal prices. Not at Pastel prices. I guess I am a little Shallow that way.

Pieds on the other hand. Uglies can produce the most goreous. What am I talking about, Have you ever seen an ugly Pied?
