Here's my thoughts. I'm trying to figure this out.
One parent looks an aweful lot like the hypermelanism lines known as "grease kings" or "mud kings".

The other parent is a blizzard - and I don't know where it got the hypermelanism from, but I'm guessing Mendota/Davis/Valley "black belly" hypermelanism.

As I think (note the word THINK) hypermelanism in Cal Kings is not over production of melanin, but rather, under production of cream pattern.

I'm guessing that the "grease kings" are a different hypermelanism than the valley "black belly" hypermelanism, and that when the two get together, it is possible for them to complement each other resulting in reduced pattern of reduced pattern, sometimes producing a snake like what kerby produced.

Am I way off the mark?
