Same croc and water. You can see the ripples and shadows in the water are the same. Wonder if they're both doctored or just the first? I think both, as background on second looks transposed.

Isn't that Utan in South Carolina?

The first appears to be a fake photo...The crocodile in the photo is a Salt Water and Siamese hybrid name "Utan" Currently, Utan is being billed as the world's largest crocodile (debatably and inconclusively and is on display at Alligator Adventure. Here's a link you may want to check out. www.alligatoradventure.com/crocs.html (click on the UTAN flash player, then click on the facts tab.) Picture 2 appears to be a still shot from a different angle to this video. By the way, the guy in the picture is a pretty well respected reptile handler named Roark Furgeson.

After I posted I decided to poke around the internet, and found another site and figured I'd make a mention of it... www.reptilesafari.org . Picture 2 (or one that looks very similar) can be found by clicking introduction.

Thanks. Yes, I heard he was a respected guy. Just wondering how those pics came to be. You can't see his reflection in the water, and I think you probably should be able to at that angle. Plus, it seems a pretty questionable stance, as he wouldn't have any chance of moving away should he need to. I doubt someone would put themselves in such a situation, though I could be wrong. Do you know the temperament on that croc?
Thanks.

Roark has been on Animal Planet basically in that same stance feeding Utan. If I remember correctly, and I may not, he was shown kissing Utan on the head. He was the main care taker of Utan for a while, and I think he still has some connection with Alligator Adventure. That picture is real.

Thanks Ed. Those are the some of the most amazing, beautiful, and actually touching photos. Obviously the original pic is real. Thanks for finalizing it for us. Very, very cool stuff. What a beast.

It is all real, just a strange croc I guess, i live in SouthCarolina and go to Alligator Adventure all the time, There are a few people that perform shows with this croc, They all put hands on him and lean on him. Can't explain it, he eats all the time and acts normal just no agression to humans.

Snakehunter101 Mar 13, 2007 03:52 PM

Yes he really does that and he is the only person in the world to train a fully grown crocodile in the world and he really does that. The croc used to be very hostile but with some work he calmed down quite a bit.

Not the biggest croc in the world: The biggest is Yai at Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm, where around 50 19-20 footers also appear....

for making me have to clean morning coffee from my keyboard after opening this image.

Good one!!

If you "cut and paste" the two pictures into a file, and then compare them side by side, the croc is definitely the one thing in the picture that does not change, the backgrounds and everything else is definitely altered on one or the other or both. In any case I have seen some crocs which have been acclimated or conditioned to work with certain humans, but I'd rather stay just a little further away!

How dare you say that about my friend Roark Ferguson. I was there when this picture was taken you son of a gun. He has been a good friend for many years and I'll certainly stand for anything that he does with that croc I've seen it my self. Your just jealous that you can't do that.
