Determining age and sex...

Lithp Feb 20, 2007 09:14 PM

I was just wondering what the easiest method for a first time gecko owner would be to determine the age and the sex of the gecko...

I got mine at a pet store but they don't actually guarantee that they know anything about your pet so is it possible to do it myself?

Here is a link with pictures to help you tell how to sex your leo. http://www.reptilecare.com/leopardgender.htm
I would suggest maybe putting yours in a clear dish and holding it up for you to see, they don't really like being turned over. Also, I've read it's like a 10 to 1 female to male ration for leo's in pet stores.

Most petstores only usually carry females. There is no real way to tell exact age, unless you know the breeder or the store themselves actually know...which most have no clue!
