I have a single Leo (I am a snake guy...lol). He's about 6 months old or so. All of the sudden he is walking on his front elbows or what would be his forearms. His diet has some variety- wax worms, meal worms, and crickets. I dust the crickets with "Herpcare Cricket Dust". I have not had a light on him as many post state they don't require UVB. Can this be genetic, or am I missing something?

does your leo have pure Calcium in his tank? It sounds like Metabolic Bone Disease. It is, unfortunatly, very common in captivity. It is usually caused by lack of calcium in their diet, so their body pulls calcium from their bones to make up for it. You need to get your little one to the vet. They deteriorate very quickly. The vet will probably take an x-ray and give him/her 1 or a series of calcium injections and drops for you to give at home. The damage is done, but you can keep it from getting worse.

Yes i do agree sounds like MBD to me as well. I would take to the vet! I also agree that if you don't have a calcuim dish in there i would get it in there right now!!

I agree it sounds like Calcium issues. Are his feet swollen at all? that could be gout..

Either way I would get him to Vet ASAP.

Good luck.
