I am currently located in central Florida near the University of Central Florida (east Orlando area), and was wondering if there was any licensed venomous keepers in the area. I am looking to get the required 1000 hours of training for my venomous permit, and have yet to find anyone in the area who can help me. Species isn't very important, I would just like to get some experience with someone who knows what they're doing.
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
Good to see these posts for going down the right path, you may want to seek out someone who is working with the particular ssp. that you want to work with p-cause they will ask you what ssp. you plan on keeping and you must have experience with that ssp. as I recall. I only work with crotes and heloderma so it was pretty easy to focus on who/what I worked with for the 1000hours. BTW it took about 3 years to get the experience and go through the hoops BUT it is well worth it and the dedication speaks volumes about your intent on being prepared and legal.
