Those European Ratsnakes are great... I hope to breed a couple of species this season again. This pic was taken a couple of years ago....I need to get some updated and better pics of them. But I have some locality scalaris fron Spain and France.

Great shot! Very nice, any chance of some pix to show the differences between the two, when you get a chance to take some more?
Thanks for sharing.
OK, you've probably seen these before if you frequent other forums but here's some more scalaris pix.... all adult females taken a few years ago, the last two are the same animal, one of only 4 I've heard of - all apparently females too. Retention of juvenile patterning seems pretty rare in scalaris.
Unfortunately both these animals died due to a small fire, or more correctly the effects of smoke inhalation, along with another three in the same room. I lost five Ladders out of my 3.4 group. This species has always been my favourite, I was devastated, totally gutted. I started finding homes for all my animals as I'd had enough, I know one 15yr old (at least) ladder still survives out of that original group of mine in a friends collection.
At the time of the photographs both snakes in the pictures were 13-14yrs old, I believe.
I get misty eyed looking at the silver girl even now.

Here's some of that now 15yr old Lady Ladder that I took last year for a poster of Euro rats that never made it!

My son has our best camera at college now...as soon as I get it from him I'm going to be taking more photos of everything and updating my blog/website. The scalaris from Spain and France look very similar though. Great photos of your animals they are really nice...sorry you lost those in the fire.
