Pulled my L.z. multicincta out today

Patton Feb 21, 2007 09:58 AM

Started the process of warming up my Bass Lake Zonata today.
This will be the the first time I've tried to breed this pair.
Wish me luck! I'll post pics when/if things start to happen. I've got a pair of non-local specific Pyro's that I'm putting together this year too. Last year the female Pyro laid five eggs, and four were good. She's a little bigger this season, so maybe I'll get a few more eggs. What's everybody else got planned for this season? Good Luck!

I plan to breed knobs and Prescott locality pyros again this year. I sold off my Patagonia locality pyros last year so won't have any of those although I still got 3 babies from'06 in hibernation because they wouldn't eat yet.

The Ruthveni that I got from you are doing great. I was amazed at how much bigger they are, as hatchlings, than Zonata and Pyro's. They eat like every meal is their last too. You can put me down as another very happy customer Aaron, thanks!
Good luck, I hope this season's a good one for you.

Well thank you. I still have 6 of them, or it could be 5. 3 are up and eating, the others I put in hibernation and will give them a try in March.

I pulled my L.Z. Multicincta one month ago, introducing them tonight. This is my first attempt as well. Let's see who gets some hatchlings up first! LOL. We'll see what happens, actually my first attempt breeding herps period. I've read the books, is it enough? I'll post the progress... Good luck.

Koz.

Well, I put my multicincta together this morning, and they have been slapping tails all day. I got one quick shot, but I just want to leave them alone. I still can't help but peek on them. I just peeked, the male was smoking a cigarette. LOL.

Yes, they're both multicincta. The male was caught last Spring in Tuolumne County, and the female was caught 5 years ago in Calaveras County. My female is really yellow, I haven't seen any others that yellow. I caught her when she was a hatchling, she was much whiter then, but as she grew, she got yellower and yellower. No, I don't smoke.

We'll see what happens.

Didn't mean to plug Brian's book, it was in the shot and I was too excited about the male's immediate interest.

Thanks for the photo's! I keep my pair together through brumation and I probably won't seperate them until I'm sure the female is gravid. Both the male and female shed lastnight and took their second meal of the season today. I keep them in racks so if anything has happened yet, I haven't seen it.
