Bunch of geckos, corn snakes, pythons...very few boas. Another disappointing show for us at Arlington. There were maybe 15-20 boas total that we saw, if that many. There were some cool animals there but nothing much that interested us.

I have to agree that Boas were not very well represented, however I wouldn't call the show a dissappointment. I am only into Boas, but I still enjoyed seeing all the different BP morphs and talking with some of the "Big Name" breeders. It was a great venue for like-minded people to come together and enjoy this hobby of ours.
There were also a good number of cage manufacturers there, and I was able to pick up some ARS racks at a great discount. That alone was worth the trip for me. Overall I would say the show was a great success and I will definately make plans to attend next year. PK was supposed to be there this year, but unfortunately could not make it. If he goes next year, we'll have all the boas we can handle.
Here's a few of the Boas that were at the show this year along with some of the other Animals:

Thanks for your time.

Who had the Jungle Boa? I can't believe it missed it.
Overall I really enjoyed the show. Not as many boas as I would have liked. With any luck I will have to opportunity to vend next year so there will be a few more.

Exotic Ball Pythons. But they didn't have it on their table until Sunday. I almost missed it myself.

There wasnt anything in there could run with this guy,

I was behind the South Mountain Reptiles table helping my friend Don out with his cornsnakes. There were only a handful of boas at the show...BUT did anyone see the four RED HYPO (Czech Republic bloodline) at the Constrictors Unlimited table...they were MIND BLOWING... the BEST red coloration I have ever seen on boas... I wish I had the $2000 each they were asking for them...I really would have bought one.... Other than that, the carmel albino boas at the VPI table were top shelf!
I enjoyed seeing alot of old friends and a few I only knew online...
Cheers,
Graham
Hey, thanks again for the Beautiful Costa Rican Milk Snake I purchased on Saturday. Aggressively took down a fuzzy yesterday and is doin great in the new setup. I'll post some pics here pretty soon ( in case you forgot what he looks like, lol) Thanks again,

Congrats again Ben on that snake...they are really AWESOME animals... I was really tempted in grab a pair but I'm trying to stick with the boas due to my work schedule... It was nice meeting you! See you at the Texas shows...

I thought they were nice but not that impressive, definitely not impressive enough to dish out 2000 a peice for them. To me, they look kind of like salmontines in color.
Yeah, the show was definitely a letdown to boa enthusiast like ourselves, but still fun to see everything else.... Jon Runde

this is my new aquisition from Salmonboa.com. Salmontine female, She is the reddest I have seen. The pic pretty much depicts her light phase. She is a dark maroon red in dark phase.... Jon Runde

Nice, here is my red salmontine. He is 87.5% Argentine. He seems to be gaining more red with every shed. He was very pink when I got him but is coloring up nicely. Sorry for the crappy picture but it does show his color fairly well.

Very pretty male. Who produced it? This pic is of her very young. I have an updated pic I need to shrink to upload. She was that red as a baby so i'm hoping for the best. Her dark phase is something else, solid dark red. have to try and get a pic of it sometime. I'll post the updated once I get it shrunk.... Jon Runde

It was the first reptile show I'd ever been to, so I can't really compare it. I picked up what I went for though. We came home with a very pretty and well tempered Columbian Red Tail from the Chicago Reptile House. My son has a juvenile boa who is our family's favorite critter, and the new guy will belong to my daughter, even though I'm in charge of caring for them. The new guy just downed his first fuzzy for us, and has acclimated well. So, I guess I was happy with the show.

The Czech Republic bloodline boas at the Constrictors Unlimited table were darn nice. Boas usually don't display their best colors at a show and those kids were still smokin'. They would glow if they were settled in and at home. Definitely not many boas and not one big boa breeder. It was a ball and colubrid show. Not many lizards or frogs floating around. It was still a good show in a good venue. I must say the blood pythons at VPI's table took the show. I imagine it will grow into a very nice show. The attendees seemed to be taking home animals. Brian also has a new sound system for the auctions, so we should be able to hear all the schenanigans and tomfoolery this year at the Chicago auction. Brian Potter amplified... This could be trouble.
