The one I ordered isn't here yet. I had a breathing emergency with one of my elderly rats on Monday night so the vet has loaned one of hers to me to use until mine gets here.
I asked her what about nebulizing Shell E, she said yeah good idea.
I did that yesterday & oh my gosh it did her SO much good! After she had the treatment, then took her shallow bath, then ate.... I could hear zero snuffling sounds from her. Mader's book talks about any hard crusty stuff in the nares can be broken up by nebulizing.. maybe that's what this did for her?

I'll tell you after using one of these for my rats a couple of times & now on Shell E, I don't know how I ever got along with out one.
If you find yourself with a turtle that has pneumonia, I'd highly recommend renting one if you can't borrow or buy one.
I can't wait until mine gets here!

What are you putting in the nebulizer? Is it just saline solution or do you have medication that you put in?

Yeah the vet prescribed gentamycin & I mix that with a saline solution.
It's like 4 parts water & 1 part meds.
Beats the heck out of a vaporizer!

What type did you get and were it you get it from if you don't mind. We are using a room humiditifier over the turtles with ear infections to keep the humidity around 80%. This Nebulizers idea would be great. I started to look and found to many on the market with know knowledge of which to buy or how much to pay. Thank you Peeperskeeper
