Mating?

judmichaels Feb 22, 2007 05:51 PM

This is my first time trying to breed my snakes. I put the pair together today, and they didn't mate, but they rubbed on each other a little and did this kind of shaking or rocking back and forth thing. I didn't know if thats what they do before they mate, or if they were trying to show their dominance.
Well, Thanks for your help
Jud

The shaking is their "mating call" if you will. Leave them be for a couple of days. Remove him after a couple of days and then reintroduce him to her.

Parnoid I'll assume they've mated and end up with no eggs!

Also, is it ok to feed them right before they go together, as long as they are in seperate enclosures while they eat?

Yes, just make sure they are in seperate cages like you said. I made that mistake once they both went after the food and got into a tug a war which I had to separate.
