I can now answer this question with first hand experiance!

I have been keeping corns for a long time and i have never seen a corn eat another corn. But, I recieved some new animals today and I put three baby corns together for just a few minutes while i was setting up the bins i was going to house them seperately in... When i went to get them, one was eating another!!

I pulled the hatchling out on time and it seems to be fine now...

These were both 2006 hatchlings and were just about the exact same size..

I never saw this before so I thought I would share!

Yeah they do...but I've only ever seen hatchlings do this, and they are almost always problem feeders (except where one hatchling smells "mousey" to the other) involved.

I wish more people would realize this very real possibility.

I guess they are bored again.
I posted a couple of bairdi pictures on the rat snake forum and I was asked if I was going to put Rosie and Sam (breeding pair of bairdis) together again and for some reason that post was deleted.
What is really stupid, though, is I quoted that post in my response and it WASN'T deleted...figure that one out.

I was given some neglected cornsnake hatchlings many years ago, and one was eaten by another cage mate before I could house them individually.....I'm sure under normal circumstances this wouldn't have happened,they were very thin and were obviously hardly ever fed(if ever) before I got them. Doug
