Got red??? (+everyones opinion please)

johnnyblazekfd Feb 22, 2007 10:25 PM

Since there have been a few talks about red lately. This is my female Salmontine I recently attained from John and Rich at Salmonboa.com. I love her in every way especially that dark red color but, as always, you second guess your choices. I had a hard decision between darker color or lighter cleaner pattern and decided to go with the color. Which would ya'll have picked given the choice? just curious... thanks for any replies.... I would almost have to flip a coin on that one. I probably would have gone with the redder one as will in a pinch though.

HOW DID YOU GET THE PLUS SIGN TO WORK?!?!?

Silly as it is that is probably one of the more aggravating little things I've found on this site - I can NEVER get that thing to come out!!

In my opinion color was definately the way to go.
Good choice.
This little guy you asked about in the other thread is 87.5% argentine that I got from Jeremy Stone. I'm not sure if he bred it himself or was just selling them. I think I remember a post here after they were born where he stated they were bred by a friend of his. But I could be losing my mind.
What future breeding plans are in store for your Salmontine?
Milo

johnnyblazekfd Feb 23, 2007 12:31 PM

Not quite sure of plans for her yet. This is my first salmontine. I'm more of a hypohogg man myself and thats what I was focusing on but I saw her ad on kingsnake and could not resist her. that much red already as a baby was too much to pass up for me. She is a beatiful really dark red in her dark phase. As everyone always says, pics dont do justice as far as color but look at it this way for a visual. Her saddles are a solid red/maroon and you cant distinguish the color that well from her body in the central part of her tail. Definitely pleased with her. Was thinking about going the junglestruck route. getting something that clean and putting it with something this colorful has to come out good. Or i maytry and find a good pure argie to increase the percentage. I really like your male too. love the pattern. Mine has nowhere near the percentage of Argie in her as yours. ..... Jon Runde

I was wondering if anyone got any of those.
I really want one.
Tell me your going to breed that to a pure argie to make 93.75% (and sell one to me!)
Aaron

miloradovich Feb 24, 2007 06:03 PM

That is actually one of the options that I have considered. I also have a 50/50 albino argentine I thought he'd make some nice DH's with. Either way I think he'll make some great babies.

Awesome snake. Kind of reminds of the euro pastel look with those blended saddles.

I think I may already have that aspect covered by accident. I have a "coral" albino malethat I ourchased a while back that I believe is just a argie cross after seeing all the debates on this board. He's ready and pluggin, now I just gotta wait a few years for her to get there, =).... Jon

Great minds think alike...

Post some pics of your guy I am sure it should be easily to tell if he is a cross or not.

Who did you get him from the breeder should be able to help you out with your guy pedigree.

Greg
