Releves the presure of all those babies you are most likey going to have. Ever see a pregnant woman in her last trimester sleep on her belly same concept! It is usually a good sign when the roll on their side.

Is this the only reason? We had a female do this recently, only a few days after the introduction of a male. Shes obviously not pregnant yet, and i've seen no activity between the two. Any other causes for this?

Dont know about boas but I would imagine the biology would be somewhat the same as humans. I know we place pregnant females on their left side to keep pressure off their inferior vena cava's( pretty much the large central vein that returns the blood back to the heart from the lower portion of your body). Its better for them medically and physically more comfortable. no clue as far as snakes but I would imagine the same instance somewhat... Jon Runde
